Newsletter #02 May 2008

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Welcome to this second newsletter!

First of all, we have some sad news. Due to some difficulties, we have decided to postpone the delivery of Okashi! vol. 3 to Abunai convention in September. But there is good news as well: Okash!3 will be our 3 year anniversary booklet, and will be even thicker and better than before! Thanks to the extra time, we’ll make this one something spectaculair.

Other good news: Instead of Okashi!3 we will bring you a NEW booklet at Animecon 2008:

CheeseCake Light vol. 01

How to describe Cheesecake Light? It’s light in looks and price, but the content weighs a ton! You’ll get a truckload of fun in exchange for your nickles spent: we’ve got some cool Capcom stuff in there, some must-have Mega NRG material and something new called Death Noodles that you can’t miss! We’re really having a blast creating it all and we seriously hope you’ll support us by stopping by the stand and taking a look for yourself. Click here for some delicious previews!

Info: 36 pages, black and white, 2,00 Euro

New from CC!: Unique handmade T-shirts.

Coming this Animecon: A very limited number of exclusive T-shirts!

On the Saturday of Animecon, our member Nat-chan will paint a live painting at the CC! table located in the Doujinshi Lounge. Buy one of our pockets, and YOU could take it home at the end of the day! Check it out at Animecon 2008!

Past conventions:

We had a blast at Rijswijk comic convention! Many thanks to everybody who dropped by at our stand, and thanks to everybody at Mangafique and our neighbours! The big dinner afterwards was a night to be remembered.

At the Elf Fantasy Fair we were part of this year’s Manga Square, organized by Aniway magazine and Abunai convention. It was a new experience for us, but definitely a succes! We will be back next year with more material in Haarzuilen.

Winner Maid contest!

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

A big thank you to everybody who sent us their fantastic maids! We were completely overwhelmed by all the amazing entries. Picking a winner was very, very hard, because of all the different and unique styles and high level of quality.

After much thought and debate, we’re happy to finally announce our winner: Dorith Graef! Congratulations with your funny and beautiful entry. It will be featured in our upcoming booklet ‘CC!Light’ vol. 01!

We also wanted to show all entries in original full colour to the public, so we decided to give them a place on our website. There’s a new section ‘Contest‘ where all news regarding new and old contests will be located from now on. Check out all entries here!

Again: Thank you, and please look forward to our future contests!

Chewy advice time! -nice and meaty-

If you plan on going to Japan better get used to doing “jikou shoukai” which basically means introducing yourself. You can usually start with “Hajimemashite” which basically is a greeting for the first time (but only for the first time). In case of students you can state that you’re from this and that department like for example “Industrial design no Li Xiao wei to moshimasu”, two points to note here, first of all start with your last name and second to moshimasu is “to be called”.
You can state things like that you’re a exchange student and stuff now and end it with “yorushiku onegaishimasu” which is translated to something like: “I’ll be in your care from now on let’s have a nice and fruitful relationship”… okay maybe not that weird but there’s not really an English equivalent of this.
