At last we can present you our third newsletter, with news of Cheesecake’s upcoming projects:

First of all, we finally have a preview of our new and long awaited pocket Okashi vol. 3!

Okashi volume 3!

Okashi 3 is once again a balanced mix of shojo and shounen, drama and comedy, action and romance. From Hino Ai’s warm hearted story about a little chestnut, to the gritty dark Deathnote spin-off by nailbiter and vincit, Okashi 3 has the most contrasting flavours and everything inbetween. Yor! kicks butt with a non-stop action Streetfighter story, RVDW and Hino Ai collaborate on a very shojo drama, and Shotaro suprises with the intense short ‘Mother Nature’.
Of course there’s Toni with his best Mega NRG episode so far, and Xiao Wei’s spectacular assassination story with a twist.  And our two new members have amazing contributions as well: Pottercreep debutes with an underwater story filled with action and emotion, and Kino-kun brings an urban thriller about the question: can you outrun fate?

This book also contains some amazing guest artists, including Oyuki with charming illustrations, Liea telling you weird stories about travelling in Japan, and a mysterious short by comic veteran Albo Helm. In the back you’ll find a collection of high quality illustrations, a Tim Burton tribute series by Shizuka and the second episode of the mini-adventures of our mascots, the Cheesecake Maids!

Abunai 2008: Legendary!

The 2008 Abunai Conbook is once again presented by Cheesecake! Studio, this year in collaboration with doujinshi circle OpenMinded. This year’s theme will be Legendary, and the conbook will not only be filled with all the convention information in style, but also a 12 page original comic and an exclusive illustration collection. This mini folklore encyclopedia enables you to learn more  about Japan’s most famous monsters, gods and other mythical creaturs, while enjoying OpenMinded’s and CC’s best artwork.

Of course, Cheesecake will be present in great numbers in the Dealer Lounge. So please don’t hesitate to stop by to say hi and pick up your copy of Okashi 3

Welcome to this second newsletter!

First of all, we have some sad news. Due to some difficulties, we have decided to postpone the delivery of Okashi! vol. 3 to Abunai convention in September. But there is good news as well: Okash!3 will be our 3 year anniversary booklet, and will be even thicker and better than before! Thanks to the extra time, we’ll make this one something spectaculair.

Other good news: Instead of Okashi!3 we will bring you a NEW booklet at Animecon 2008:

Past conventions:

We had a blast at Rijswijk comic convention! Many thanks to everybody who dropped by at our stand, and thanks to everybody at Mangafique and our neighbours! The big dinner afterwards was a night to be remembered.

At the Elf Fantasy Fair we were part of this year’s Manga Square, organized by Aniway magazine and Abunai convention. It was a new experience for us, but definitely a succes! We will be back next year with more material in Haarzuilen.

A big thank you to everybody who sent us their fantastic maids! We were completely overwhelmed by all the amazing entries. Picking a winner was very, very hard, because of all the different and unique styles and high level of quality.

After much thought and debate, we’re happy to finally announce our winner: Dorith Graef! Congratulations with your funny and beautiful entry. It will be featured in our upcoming booklet ‘CC!Light’ vol. 01!

We also wanted to show all entries in original full colour to the public, so we decided to give them a place on our website. There’s a new section ‘Contest‘ where all news regarding new and old contests will be located from now on. Check out all entries here!
